My wsop main event

My table looked pretty solid. There was a couple of average players at the table but the rest of them were real solid. The only person i recognized was chip jett 2 to my right. I decided to play tight since my table was playing solid and not make a big bluff in early levels. I was gonna try and see alot of flop early on though. Here are the most notable hands

50/100
utg raises to 300 i call on button with 78s both blinds call. flop comes T-8-8 (2 clubs). utg bets 750 i flat call blinds fold. turn comes 9 of clubs he checks i bet 1200 he calls my read was that he had overpair with club here. river was 6d he checks i bet 1800 he folds. i really regret not raising this on the flop but i think he gets away from his overpair here on turn anyways.

i raise in MP to 300 with TsTc guy behind me calls SB reraises to 1350 i call i can tell this guy has a monster. flop comes q-9-6 all diamonds he checks i check turn comes the jack of clubs he checks i think about betting here but i thought he would call, it looks he has two black kings or aces. turn comes a blank he checks i check he shows two black aces. i end this level at 21.5k

100/200
i look down at AhQh in the bb after two players limped i raise to 1200 and only the first limper calls. flop comes 3-7-7r i bet 1400 he calls turn comes a 9 i bet 2600 he calls river comes a jack and it goes check-check he shows 44. i gave this guy credit for making a good call after i saw him call a riverbet with jack high in a raised blind vs blind battle. But at the same time he goes out by playing a gigantic 80k pot in the 2nd level with AK on a board of A-8-6 against a set of 66 when he should obviously have folded. i end this level with 16.5k

200/400
A HUGE INTERESTING HAND!
i raise to 1100 with AsQc in the hijack the cutoff calls after a 20 sec think. flop comes 8-3-4 (2 hearts) i bet 1600 he calls. turn comes another 8 he bets 2500 i really thought he was on flush draw so i call.river comes a total blank the deuce of spades. i check he instantly bets 5k i remember looking at him when he showed down a good hand and his body language looked different this time. his pulse on his neckwas beating like crazy i was expecting to see KhQh or AhJh. So i make the call with Ace high queen kicker! he doesnt want to turn over his hand so im high-fiving myself in my head then he reluctantly turns over AhKh i show my AQ and he celebrates his great value bet. Never underestimate the physical read.

there was 2 limpers in front of me sb completes i look down at AK in the bb i shove allin for 6450 total.i really didnt think i was gonna get called but i wanted it to look like i was on tilt and get a call from a hand like AT/AJ. The lp limper ended up thinking for 2 mintues and calls with 77 with 5k behind after calling, i win the race.

i raise to 1200 with 88 in EP chip jett calls in bb. flop comes 5-9-6r. he checks i bet 1800 he check raises to 4200 i really thought he had a big hand here i dont think he would have folded if i went allin. i head to dinner break with 8.7k

200/400 ante 50
they all fold to the sb he limps i check j3 in bb. flop comes j-t-3 he bets 1050 i raise to 3k he putsme allin i call he shows QT my hand holds

i raise to 1200 with AcKs in MP the button calls. flop comes 6-9-3 (2 spades) i bet 1800 he calls i put him on a medium pair. turn comes another 3 i bet 4k he thinks for 30 seconds and calls. river is a 8 flush misses i have 9,300 left and decide to jam in. i had a tight image and i thought he would have to give me respect if i tripel barreled but of course he calls with 77. i dont give him any respect for making this call. he was one of the 3 average players at the table. i always bluff the wrong guy, something i really need to work on.

I will try to post my other wsop prelim tournies later.

it might sound crazy now, but did you know that you can post pictures on your blog alongside the words?

jason, you are this close (imagine two fingers almost touching) to becoming a phenomenal live (especially deep stack) tourney player. Bluffing at the wrong time is your biggest fault, but your reads are super strong especially given the fact you have little live game experience. It might not even be bluffing as much as playing each player appropriately based on their game and their reactions to your game. My physical reads are very poor on people, but I make up for this by understanding when and who I can get away with things against. When you fine tune this big things are going to happen.
